The JG Engine - August 1972
This will be fitted to the Cheney frame. Built in August 1972, the top end has been replaced with a 1969 Competition Dept (BCD) head and barrel. Two cooling fin are snapped but other than that, all looked to be in good order. The kick start was ground off so a new quadrant was bought.
After removing the primary chain cover, a crack was spotted in the casing under some araldite! that was not noticed before due to old mud caked all over it, also inside the bottom stator mount was missing. The engine cracks were welded by PES and the stator post was built up by my local shop.
Engine has been put to one side while all effort is put into EE Engine
Info
1 3/4 inch exhaust outlet
Larger inlet. An AMAL 1034 X was found to be the right carb.
Chrome barrel liner
So far i have had the following done:
Gearbox Tig welded (Cracks and post)
Carb rebuilt
Exhaust
K&N Filter
To Do
Barrel liner could do with replacement
New bearings
New Rings
Decompression lever very stiff
Machine stator mount
